Pen and Eye

Posted by: DuFFeR   in Cafe-de-Bakwas, Don't Ask

It’s been two months almost, since I wrote any word on the canvas and blogged only a very few posts in last three months. These days only activity is to abuse facebook and more importantly, I think my love for books has revived. In last 23 days I have read 28 books, mostly novels. Am I grasping or extracting anything out of books? I don’t know.
What I know is, I don’t want to lose my relation with Qalam-Dawat at any cost but I am fully trapped by book reading habit at the moment. My head opts for Book while heart votes Pen. What about blogging? Frankly speaking, I didn’t consider it at all. For your information I’ve got rid of movies addiction and I’m happy for this.
Yesterday I thought a lot about these and came up with a schedule (umhuuunN don’t be surprised, my schedule and plans are never schedules and plans ;) ). So here I go
1- Say NO to facebook (here NO means “no abusing”, don’t expect a full bycott)
2- Only one book a day
3- Minimum two hours to calligraphy
4- Blog at least once a week (can be any week of month ;) )
Well, I guess one book a day means NO room for number 3 and 4 :D Really, I’m so slow with reading.
Pray for me as in coming days I am expecting loads of work waiting for me at office.
Oh, shi* :x I forgot to schedule cooking time :(
PS: Did I tell you about my new private VIP cabin assignment in office?

Office Politics

“If you don’t like anybody, ignore him or don’t even see him. You can do this in your personal life but unfortunately you don’t have that luxury in your professional life. You can’t ignore people, you have to face them by having discussions and many official forums but all without letting them know your annoyingness. Actually you have to be sort of hypocrite at that stage.

Your personality should be uncontroversial for everybody, else you are forming or trying to form political groups which are rarely acceptable to organizations. Abstain any discussion about company; don’t share your thoughts when focus is corporate.

Jealous people are everywhere; they try to pull your legs. That’s how incompetents progress. People, who know you, really know you. If a third person commenting about you, he in fact is portraying himself. Best thing is not to take notice of them. They won’t take long to expose their true faces to everyone.” This is what my boss lectured me when we were having a discussion about a person trying to noise my image.

And now this is the golden line, my friend advised me while I started my professional career, “There is no friendship in professional life, expect it and you are screwed”.
