What image we have portrayed?

Posted by: DuFFeR   in Cafe-de-Bakwas, Don't Ask

While looking for places to visit during my holiday trip, I just put in our country name and this is the first highlighted paragraph I found on the resulting page

Travel Alert: The security situation in Pakistan is extremely uncertain, with sectarian and political violence regularly reported in Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar and Lahore. Avoid any travel to northern and western Balochistan, the North West Frontier Province (NWFP), the Federally-Administered Tribal Areas and Agencies (FATA) including Waziristan, and border areas other than official crossings. Check Safe Travel for government warnings and the BBC for news updates.

And after reading this I’m curious, what place should I land when I reach back Pakistan?

Hi Duffer.
It saddens me that people are only given one view of a country. Usually, because it’s more newsworthy, the view is of the black side – violence, danger, poverty – a very misguided and narrow view. Such a pity we can’t hear about the other 98% of the countries where peace, tolerance, and friendship reign.
